O2 Skywalk

The Challenge

In July 2011 planning permission was granted for the construction of a roof walkway across the top of the O2 arena in London. The challenge came in making this a safe experience that could be enjoyed by the public whilst protecting the existing structure.

Our solution

Our surveyors were commissioned by the project consulting engineers, Base Structures Ltd, to provide survey information on supporting masks and the dome structure. The survey was carried out using the Faro Focus Scanner. The deliverable included high spec 3D pointcloud data and 3D AutoCAD drawings of relevant structures.
